How to Apply

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey toward a rewarding career in the trades? The Local 7 Training Center welcomes aspiring apprentices to join our program and become skilled professionals in the field. Here's how to apply:

To start your journey, applicants must visit our Training Center in person, schedule your time by calling (425) 235-7827.

The Training Center is  located on the Renton Technical College campus.

1. Math Test Requirement 

Before you can fill out an application, you'll need to demonstrate your math skills by passing a 50-question math test. The test covers a range of math topics, including:

  • Addition
  • Subtraction
  • Multiplication
  • Division
  • Adding and subtracting fractions
  • Multiplication and division of fractions
  • Addition and subtraction of decimals
  • Multiplication and division of decimals
  • Percentages
  • Story problems

You'll need to achieve a score of 70% or higher to move forward in the application process.

2. Required Documentation  

When you come in to apply, please make sure to bring the following documents with you:

  1. Driver's License: To establish your identity
  2. Social Security Card: Required for I-9 verification. Alternatively, you may use one of the following for I-9 verification
  3. US Passport or Passport Card
  4. Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)

3. Proof of Dependable Transportation: This can be an insurance card or vehicle registration in your name. If the vehicle is not in your name, you'll need a letter from the registered owner giving you permission to use the vehicle for work.

Additional Items (Not Required):  

Please note that the following items are **not required** for the application:

  • Diplomas
  • Certificates
  • Awards
  • Training cards
  • Resume
  • Letters of recommendations

Veterans:

If you are a veteran, be prepared to provide your DD214.

Graduates of Apprenticeship Readiness Programs:

If you've completed an apprenticeship readiness program or pre-apprenticeship course, you will need to provide your certificate as part of your application.
